Leroy Sané will not be called up to the Germany squad and will instead work on his fitness

Sky Germany reports that Leroy Sané will not be called up to the Germany squad for the upcoming international break and will stay in Munich.

Sané has recently recovered from a groin injury and has returned to full training with Bayern Munich. He could then be called up to play for Germany but it has been decided that he will stay at his club to get back to full fitness.

The winger underwent growing surgery in July after EURO 2024 and has not featured in any of Bayern’s pre-season training. Sané’s last appearance was in Germany’s 2-1 loss to Spain in the quarter-finals of EURO 2024 where he was subbed off at half-time.

This upcoming international break will likely feature several new faces as head coach Julian Nagelsmann looks to evolve their squad after a relatively successful tournament. VfB Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller has been one of the names touted with a call-up.
